night time is the right time
National Parks at Night offers on-location workshops focusing on night photography. As a gift for each participant, the NPAN team wanted to provide a unique shirt commemorating each workshop. Their initial concept was to have something similar to the Work Projects Administration posters of the 1930–40s. WPA posters were notable for their graphic style and vivid colors. However, a major constraint of this project was the shirts would be printed in just one color. Using the instructor’s photography of iconic park scenes as reference, a monoline style of illustration was employed to give different tones to the art. Shirts are printed with glow-in-the-dark ink.
